current beauty essentials

In case you weren't aware, I'm a (shameless) beauty product junkie. From make-up, to shampoo, to serums, you name it & chances are I've tried it. A simple trip to CVS to pick up some deodorant may result in a cart full of products labeled "new!" or "limited edition!" Well, at my most recent trip to the drug store I purchased a few products that have changed my world and will probably change yours too.

First let me start off by saying I have the world's most sensitive dry skin. When I picked up this product and read that it was mattifying, I almost put it back. I'm SO glad that I gave this little guy a try. According to the package it visibly corrects skin by tightening pores, diminishing fine lines and revealing petal-soft skin texture. I agree 100000%. My skin literally looks airbrushed after applying this serum. I use it both morning and night after cleansing and I have noticed a huge difference in my skin tone and texture.

2.) L'Oreal Paris Youth Code Texture Perfector Day/Night Cream
This cream is basically amazing. It has a super rich texture but it immediately sinks into the skin leaving it looking flawless and hydrated yet matte. Has a nice clean scent and works wonders in conjunction with the serum. I swear it looks like I've applied foundation after using these two products. Bonus points- They're good for all skin types! Go buy them. Now.

Official new favorite face powder. I've tried tons of powders from every brand at every price and I've yet to find one better than this. It gives amazing medium/full coverage without being cakey or apparent on the skin. It doesn't settle into fine lines and it lasts alll day. It's super lightweight and lets your skin breathe. If you're a liquid foundation kinda gal, give your skin a break and try this stuff out! I apply it with a big fluffy powder brush. Try to press it into your skin rather than buffing or going in a circular motion.

& There you have it. Three products that I really don't think I could live without. For now anyways. ;)

Until next time!

Phew! Finally sitting down with my feet up after a crazy few weeks of back to school, traveling, tons of editing and a calendar full of sessions. Quick recap: At the end of August I attended an AMAZING photography workshop, and then started my SENIOR year of college the following week. I have a pretty full course load consisting of four writing classes and a math class (which I'm pretty sure is going to be harder for me than all four of the writing classes combined! Ugh!) On top of school, I  recently got a new part time job at a tanning salon. I've been working mostly nights, heading straight there after school. Most days gone from 8:45am until right around 10pm.

On top of that, Julian just purchased his first house! *So so proud of him!* Lots of my weekends have been spent helping him unpack & get everything looking perfect.

On top of that, I've had at least one photo session every week and tons in the works for October, including an awesome wedding!

& On top of that I just got to spend a perfect week in The Outer Banks in North Carolina courtesy of Julian's parents!

So basically - senior year, work, photo shoots, emails, editing, packing, unpacking, traveling, beach!, coffeecoffeecoffeee. Yep. That pretty much sums the month of September up.  Super exhausted but it's all good stuff so I can't even complain.

Sidenote of busyness: I'm currently booking into December. CRAYYYcray I know! So if you're interested in a session please don't hesitate to contact me. I seriously hate to have to turn people away.
